DEI Metrics Scorecard -Lifeline of Organizations

Monday September 27, 2021, By Athira Premarajan

The outcome of any initiative is assessed basis the impact it creates. When it comes to the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts of an organization, it is imperative that the system measures even the simplest of things including the provision of ergonomic tools and designs for assuring employee satisfaction that will lead to a positive experience. Hence, tracking and monitoring the DEI measures and incorporating necessary action plans for the betterment of the organization is done with the help of the data derived from the DEI Scorecard. A vital tool for measuring organizational success, Scorecards help track, plan, and implement the essentials.

As such, it is important to understand the different aspects that are tracked with the help of a DEI Scorecard. Listed below are the key items that the Scorecard gives an overview of.

  1. Recruitment:

Gender disparity in workplaces is a critical challenge that even global stakeholders are trying to bridge. A major share of this focus goes to the historically underrepresented groups, especially women. DEI Scorecard essentially measures the number of marginalized candidate intake within an organization.

  1. Representation:

Through the layers of the organization, understanding the diversity ratio of the majority and minority groups is critical for driving successful DEI agendas. Women hitting the glass ceiling is a heated topic of discussion even in these advanced times. Hence, for organizations to ensure equal representation of all groups at all levels, DEI Scorecard statistics would help.

  1. Retainment:

A successful organization will always have talented individuals in its pipeline, who are both experienced and happy about the culture of the organization. DEI Scorecard through tools like surveys, meetings, NPS scores, etc., helps in deriving the improvement areas for an effective run.

  1. Development:

Keeping track of the career progression of all employees is important, so as to prevent any possible leakage from the talent pipeline. DEI Scorecard helps in knowing the status of aspects like, promotion, incentives, and the likes, that encourage people to stay and progress within the same organization.

  1. Policies and Culture:

A company’s culture and its policies determine the happiness quotient of its employees. A rightly structured and organized workplace that fosters inclusion and respect is never a place from where employees want to leave. DEI Scorecard establishes the exact strong and weak points that help in strengthening the system.

As said, ambitious goals require structured and measurable action plans, that help in the successful tracking of wins and fails. For organizational-business success in today’s scenario, DEI Scorecard plays a major role in informing the status of the organization in terms of development, improvement, and advancement.
