Elon Musk will soon step down as Twitter CEO. His exit will pave the way for a woman leader. Reports on the development claimed NBC Universal executive Linda Yaccarino was in talks to become Twitter’s chief executive officer.
Musk assumed the role last year after the takeover of the microblogging site in October. He revealed that he would be assuming the role for a limited period.
Elon Musk tweeted the news: “Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks! My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops.”
Reports said that while he began his role with Twitter, he revealed that he wanted to complete the organizational overhaul he thought the company needed to prosper.
Musk has revealed that his vision for Twitter is taking it beyond social media and making it an everything app, including financial services.
