Overcoming Reservations against Words like Challenges and Risks

“A woman is like a tea bag – you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

As part of the telecom industry for the last 30 years, I have found that women can thrive in the face of challenges, regardless of their professional domains. I joined Ericsson 4 years ago, before which I held senior leadership positions with various other organizations. Today, as the Head of Service Delivery Unit for Managed Services Networks in Ericsson India, I get to work with some of the best-in-class technologies and professionals in the industry.

Embracing Challenges and Taking Risks

It has been a fulfilling career journey – one that has taught me the value of embracing new challenges and taking risks. We have a natural reservation against words like transformation, challenges, and risks – for me, these are the buzzwords that have defined my professional and personal growth.

Nurturing Diversity and Inclusion

As a technology leader, Ericsson has given me the opportunity to really design my own career and take up a multitude of roles in diverse technology and operational domains. These have been offset by organizational initiatives that I really feel passionately about, such as improving the process of internal mobility and championing the cause of diversity and inclusion. This variety is extremely important for any professional for a holistic view of the business.

Shaping Futures Together

While I believe I have shared some wonderful rapport and engaging conversations with my juniors, the encouragement and support from my managers and mentors have been instrumental in shaping my career into what it is today.

A Journey of Growth, Empowerment, and Inclusivity
